Is it a norm or habit for some celebrities to behave like hooligans? Well, that is the question on my mind as I am writing this blog. Some celebrities seem to think that they are high and mighty until something tints their image, then they become humble. Some of them see themselves as being untouchable. The likes of Kelly Khumalo, who rose into stardom after her hit track ‘Qinisela’, and then of course, her alleging to be a virgin and even writing a song about it.
At the feather awards that took place on the 7th of November 2012, Kelly Khumalo put on a stunning performance and then afterwards, came the drama. She had a little too much to drink that evening and so she caused a scene when two unknown women took pictures of her. Kelly who then shouted at the two ladies using vulgar words and then proceeded to threaten to destroy their camera if they did not delete the pictures immediately.
During all that commotion, an unknown guy who is said to be a ‘friend’ arrived and grabbed her and dragged her towards the car. But Kelly refused to get in the car, her sister Zandi also tried fruitlessly to convince her to leave the two ladies alone and get into the car. when is Kelly Khumalo growing mara, like not so long ago she had a reality show about how she is cleaning up her act but this again, I really love Kelly but really now, she needs to grow up and get her act together and stop making my job difficult,because she knows how the media can get at times
ReplyDeleteShe's one wild lady. Even at the SAMA's she was rude to fans who were asking to take pictures. I don't get why she's refusing people pictures, she is a celebrity after all.
DeleteKelly Khumalo will have to apologise to the photographers who took pictures of her and also work hard to positively serve her fans and the public, therefore may be she can slowly redeem her image to the public.

Deletewell it would not be easy at all to manage an image of a prominent figure whose behaviour is much similar to that one of a psycopath, i suppose what's done is done, she messed up and unfotunately there is nothing much her manager or anyone can do about it, what they can do however is to make sure that such behaviour doesnt happen again in the future moving forward

ReplyDeleteNot many artist managers have that option. If you do that you'll be known as a true quitter and many may not want to touch you because you'll be known as a quitter.
DeleteThai is a hard one because at the end of the day your reputation as her manager might also be ruined while trying to clean up her mess.

DeleteAs a manager I would ask Kelly to appologise to the photographers in order to protect her image because thats what matters i mean she's none without the fans and also make sure that such behaviour doesnt happen again to sustain her future.
ReplyDeleteKelly seems to be uncontrollable, she does whatever she wants whenever. No one will tell her what to do, we saw that when her sister tried calming her down and all she did was swear.
ReplyDeleteWell there was a show on E-tv about her life and her mistakes. On that show she redeemed herself and I believe she has changed and she is clean. But in general yes it is boring for celebs to wait for them to break first and then they try to be good after a tragedy.

DeleteUhmmmm yah it won't be an easy path to go on. First of all I was going to have a chat with the two ladies to try to clear up the air and try to make them see that Kelly is under influence of alcohol and she's not herself as we all see. Secondly I was going to have a serious conversation with Kelly after she becomes clean and probably I was going to make her apologise to the ladies even if it is indirect. I mean showing some regrets after dirty moves you did as a human being it will add up some points in your image as a whole.

I for one do not understand why these people behave like this, I mean we look up to them as our role models and what they portray to us is certainly not good hey ( ey the world we in ). if i was her manager i will ask her to apologise to the photographers as the is no any other way out of this besides apologising. that's the way i see this.

DeleteWhen dealing with celebrities like Kelly, you as a manager have to stay on your toes at all times and be prepared for any stunt she might pull next. The only safe route to take is to always be one step ahead of her, always have a plan.
